Typical characteristics of Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines: warm, generous and spicy reds, with aromas of ripe red and black fruit, Mediterranean herbs and earthy notes as they evolve. Grenache is usually the backbone of the blends, accompanied by Syrah and Mourvèdre. The characteristic rounded stones (galets roulés) of many vineyards store the day's heat and release it at night, helping the grapes to ripen.
