It is a pure expression of the prestigious Champoux vineyard, one of the most renowned and oldest in Washington State, located in the Horse Heaven Hills region. This single-plot label embodies Andrew Will's vision of creating wines that reflect the specific identity of the terroir, beyond mere varietal composition.
This wine is a Bordeaux blend made primarily from Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot in varying proportions depending on the vintage. The 2015 vintage benefited from an early, warm harvest, resulting in grapes with great concentration, ripeness, and natural balance. The varieties were vinified separately and aged in French oak barrels for an extended period to preserve their integrity and provide structure without masking the fruit.
Andrew Will is distinguished by a minimalist approach in the winery, intervening only as much as necessary to allow the wine to authentically express its origin. Champoux Vineyard Red Wine 2015 is one of his most serious and long-lived labels, designed to evolve gracefully in the bottle and showcase the sophisticated and consistent character of this legendary vineyard.
