Tasting notes
Nose
On the nose it is very expressive with notes of licorice, cinnamon and black pepper, where the long aging in wood is barely noticeable, thanks to its great complexity and concentration of ripe fruit.
Palate
In the mouth it is fresh, with very pleasant polished tannins, with good structure but easy to drink. The finish is long and leaves slight balsamic memories of great quality.

Description
Dentro de su Reserva Histórica, en Marqués de Riscal siempre han existido los vinos de bodeguero, al que pertenecía este XR. Al estilo de los capataces jerezanos, el enólogo marcaba algunas de sus barricas con una tiza con la palabra XR al haber encontrado algunas características especiales.
Este XR nunca se comercializó, pero siempre fue un referente para el maestro bodeguero en una costumbre que duró casi un siglo, desde 1869 hasta 1964. El XR es un homenaje a todos los grandes bodegueros que han formado parte a la prestigiosa historia de Marqués de Riscal. Ha conseguido la medalla de oro en los Decanter World Wine Awards 2022.
