D.O. Ribeiro
The D.O. Ribeiro, in the province of Ourense, is one of the most historic appellations of Galicia, with Ribadavia as its leading wine centre. Its vineyards are spread across the valleys of the Avia, Miño and Arnoia rivers, and its emblematic white grape is Treixadura.
Its whites are especially known for their freshness, finesse and elegance, with aromatic profiles that may show white fruit, citrus, flowers and herbal notes. Blending different traditional varieties has historically been one of the hallmarks of the area.
Although whites are the best known, the D.O. also covers red wines, as well as specific styles such as Ribeiro Barrica, Ribeiro Espumoso and Ribeiro Tostado. Ribeiro Espumoso is made by the traditional method and may be Brut or Brut Nature.
